Dear PS 44 Community,
I hope this message finds you well. As the principal of PS 44 Marcus Garvey Magnet School of Engineering and Design, I am honored to lead a school that is dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging, understanding, and respect for every student. Our mission is to ensure that each child is recognized for their unique talents and potential, and I am committed to creating an environment where all students feel valued and included.

At PS 44, we uphold core values that guide our daily interactions and educational practices:

Our interdisciplinary curriculum is designed to challenge and engage students, with a special focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). We provide hands-on learning experiences that encourage creativity and innovation, particularly in engineering and design.

Serving students from 3-K to 5th grade, PS 44 has a diverse student body with a strong emphasis on community and collaboration. Our student-teacher ratio of 9:1 ensures personalized attention and support for each child. Named after the influential civil rights leader Marcus Garvey, our school is dedicated to academic excellence and character development.We strive to create a nurturing environment where students can thrive and reach their full potential.

I emphasize the importance of high expectations, academic excellence, and a safe environment for all students. I encourage our students to dare to dream and pursue their goals with integrity and leadership.

We regularly host tours and events to engage with the community and showcase student work completed in their classes or with our partners. I invite you to join us in these activities and witness the incredible achievements of our students.
